Human Freedom Animal Rights One Struggle One Fight
This gorgeous critter is a tri-colour transgenic mouse (a mouse who in the embryonic stage has had non-mouse genes from other species inserted into his or her genes). Transgenic mice are bred for laboratory experiments. Of course like all mammals they have a complex emotional and cognitive life, they exhibit individuality, have attachments, and according to animal ethicists may be considered “persons” in the same way that animals of the human species may be considered persons - except that under human law they are considered property of humans, not persons.
